Polluted Rivers

I don't know what to do today and as I was browsing and reading the internet contents. I came across pictures of polluted rivers. I couldn't believe it that the river is so polluted until you cannot see any water on the surface of the river. As if the river is a landfill and you can only see rubbish on the surface of the river and people are looking for useful items or any recycleable junks using boats. If you don't believe me you can see it here. http://www.anvari.org/cols/The_Most_Polluted_River_in_the_World.html and here is another blog that probably using the same pictures from the website to show their disappointment. http://www.vincentchow.net/1298/the-worlds-most-polluted-river oh well.. see it for yourself and decide whether you should throw rubbish everywhere or not. If you do litter I think you should be shot dead. We don't need people like you!

change and second chance

What in this world that doesn't change? At first I thought there should be something that do not change at all. But on a second thought, I think there is nothing in this world that doesn't change at all. living and non living things do change whenever there is a need to change or because of external or internal forces (could be anything). I just want to talk about human in particular here not something else. I've seen so many people change through out the years that I've been friends with them. There are people who changed from good to not really good as well as vice versa. It depends on what your culture or religion is actually to think about good or bad because it is subjective. That is another important thing to keep in mind. After going through a lot of things in overseas, I can say that I myself changed in many aspects - knowledge, maturity, physical and many others. But it is sad to some to see some have gone over the line and becoming something that think it is n...

Development On Hill Sides

Meet again after a very long time. I didn't write anything in November because I was busy with moving. I have moved now from New Zealand to the Truly Asia country - Malaysia. Since there was a land slide at Bukit Antarabangsa that took few lives. So I want to say something about it. The most important thing that I want you to take note is why the hell did they built up banglows and condominiums up on the hill tops? Didn't learn the lesson of Highland Towers? Haha... This is all because of the corruptions in Malaysia .lol.. I cannot say much about it because I myself do not know. But In my opinion I believe it is happening. I've seen it myself almost everywhere. Then we'll surely ask this question. How the hell did the hillside/top projects approve by the government? Though it is deemed not safe for habitation. haha.. I think you can think about the answers yourself. What do you reckon? CORRUPTION? . I have seen corruptions myself for a few times. Once when I was a a...

Teachers Stop Caning!

Just thought. What is caning? Caning is an act of hitting students with rattan stick or any other object such as a metre long ruler that could make them feel the pain by misbehaving in schools' compound. Actually, I don't know what to write in my newest post and suddenly the other day a friend told me to write something on school caning. Oh well here it goes. In my opinion it is important that school children need to learn lessons in their life that every single wrong doings has consequences. This is important because when they realise that misbehaviour lead to caning, they'll probably won't commit any law breaking. If you realised that in the real world, people get caned whenever they did something terrible like rape, molesting etc and it is not a light punishment to compare it with caning in school. In schools children are hit lightly and not too hard that could leave any mark. This is important so that it won't be interpreted as violence against kids. This put a...

Save Energy Too (2)

Image
Recently I posted an article about how to save energy by buying energy efficient computers (which are laptop or desktop?). Now, I am going to talk about saving energy again and how you could do that by using energy efficient appliances. Before, we go into using these appliances we need to know a little about energy saving and we do it. We save energy in our house so that we can pay less for our electricity bills and not just that, we can reduce our carbon footprint. It is easy to make changes that can reduce energy costs in the home. Through a mix of careful use and smart appliance purchases, it is usually possible to save substantially on electric, gas and air conditioning bills. Often, small changes can substantially reduce energy costs in the home. Some take little effort, such as turning off unneeded lights or letting dishes air-dry in the dishwasher without the heat setting. Others require simple fixes, like using energy efficient light bulbs. Fixing leaks around windows will save...

Save Energy? Save it!

OK here is the deal. I recently heard someone said to me (not directly, covertly I may say) that laptop consumes more energy than a desktop. So, that really made me feels sick of the deceit. Hence, I made a little research about which saves more energy? Here there are some facts about desktop vs. laptops. 1. Comparing the 30W for a powerful notebook (including LCD screen) with the 120W desktop PC plus the 80 W CRT screen, savings could really be up to 80%. And even in the notebooks intended as 'desktop replacement', with a larger screen (up to 16-17") and less aggressive power management settings, the savings are still well over 50%. ( http://www.eu-energystar.org/en/en_022p.shtml ) 2. If you are considering buying a new computer, you may want to keep in mind that a laptop consumes significantly less power than a desktop, with 50% to 80% energy savings over a desktop (depending on model). 3. In areas with blackouts and power-surges the notebook (batteries included) could s...

Rudeness of Nandos Wellington City Staffs

This is my real experience there at this particular Nando's. When I was eating there with my mates. When I have ordered my food I couldn't believe my experience there at this Nando's. Their service is totally rude and very embarrassing to me. Can you imagine, while you are eating at a table and all of a sudden come a waiter asking you to leave the table because they want to reserve it for someone else. This exactly happened to me when I was eating there with my mates. We ordered as usual and went to a table and waited there with my other friends. We got our food as usual at that table and started eating. Then came from out of nowhere, a waiter, asked us to leave the table saying that the table was reserved. Since when the table was reserved? If it was, they should have placed a sign saying that it was. But as far as I knew and I know that my eyes can still see clearly without any vague impression that there was No Sign saying that the table was reserved! The waiter said s...

How to Teach a Language?

How to teach language? I have no idea why I want to post this up on the internet, especially on my blog. Actually, I have not updated my blog for quite some times already and here it is "How to teach language?" According to what I have learnt in the lectures from this year and last year, there are 4 strands in order for someone to be competent in language that they're learning. There're 4 strands which are; Meaning Focus Input, Meaning focus input in teaching students on some things that they're already familiar with so that it'll be meaningful to them. This does not have to involve heavy demand in language. It should be easy for students to understand the task that requires reading and listening. Meaning Focus Output Output focuses on the productive skills that students have to do in the language learning classroom. This involves speaking and writing. The task that teacher give to students should be meaningful as it should be known by the students or students...

Muhammad S. A. W. In The Bible

Bible prophecies about the advent of Muhammad S.A.W Abraham is widely regarded as the Patriarch of monotheism and the common father of the Jews, Christians and Muslims. Though His second son, Isaac, came all the Israelite prophets including such towering figures as Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, Solomon and Jesus. May peace and blessings be upon them all. The advent of these great prophets was in partial fulfilment of God's promises to bless the nations of earth through the descendants of Abraham (Genesis 12:2-3). Such fulfilment is wholeheartedly accepted by Muslims whose faith considers the belief in and respect of all Prophets and article of faith. Blessings of Ishmael and Isaac Was the first born son of Abraham (Ishmael) and his descendants included in God's covenant and promise? A few verses from Bible may help shed some light on this question; Genesis 12:2-3 speaks of Gods promise to Abraham and his descendants before child was born to him. Genesis 17:4 reiterates Gods pro...

I hate it

Here is what I want to tell you people. It's weird to see other people who don't appreciate what others have given them, helped them or did anything good to them. It's just weird. I have no idea why these people are like this. I never want to ask for anything. Anything at all. But this happened recently. I just hate to mentioned or elaborate about it too much but here is what I feel sick about. I was promised (I always take other people's word as promise) to be given some food after work. Arghh...I really hate to write about it. . okay. . I stop here. Lets not talk about it anymore. Lets just talk about the moral of the story. The moral of the story is, it's in Bahasa Melayu hati nyamuk sama dicicah, hati gajah sama dilapah which means we have to share everything. If the amount of the food is too little, then the wise men should know how to divide it so that everyone would get it. Ok ok ok. . .I was mengarut-ing up there. But I really hate it hate it hate it. . heh...

Winter Break @ South Island

Image
href="file:///C:%5CDOCUME%7E1%5CFauzi%5CLOCALS%7E1%5CTemp%5Cmsohtmlclip1%5C01%5Cclip_filelist.xml"> June 24, 2008 Tuesday This is the second journey I made this winter holiday after studies stopped few weeks ago. I am really happy now as I just saw sleet rain fell from the sky and hit my wind screen of the black Toyota Previa that I was driving. It was really exciting as it was my first time to see such an amazing thing. Okay, this was roughly what happened today. I slept really late at about 3 a.m. after I finished packing for stuff to bring to South Island. Then I was awakened by the tone of my Sony Ericson PDA phone calling like “where did you get your body from? I got it from my mama” at about 5.00 a.m. in the morning. I was really sleepy at that time and I replied to Syafiq telling him that to call me at 0550. He did but I ignored it because I was in the shower. Then I walked to Syafiq’s house but the shuttle took me before I could get to his place. Arrived at ...

Bungy Jumping is Hazardous

Image
This is not just a saying okay. It's true and feel free to try it. It does not bring any benefit any all. It just make you scared of height. Ok ok enough about what I think about bungy but it is true that it does not give you anything but bad side effects. Most of doctors believe that they bungy jumping affected your brain or your organ because your body could not handle different pressure in a matter of seconds. It is unlike taking of or touching down from a plane because you gradually increase or decrease your height from the sky. Therefore, your body can handle the pressure slowly as the altitude increase or decrease. In contrast, when you do bungy jumping your body could not handle the pressure because it happens so quick, in a flash. Furthermore, eye trauma is another very serious health risk from bungy jumping. One of the most dangerous types of eye trauma associated with this sport is retinal hemorrhage; this presents a very real possibility of losing one’s eyesight....
I can't believe it!!! I didn't know that life here is so damn frustrating. Oh well, what do you expect? If you're studying then, you should expect loads of work from your respective course. It's just crazy. This semester was the craziest ever since I started school in 1993 when I was 7 year old. I have been bombarded with assignments from back to back. This is the hardest episodes of my life so far. Anyway, this semester hasn't finish yet. I still have another two missions to accomplish. One is my ALIN assignment and another one is examination for my media. Both of them fall on the same date. Is this what we call mission impossible? Haha....obviously I can. With help of the God. The date is no longer around the corner, I can see it now. It's on the 6th of June. Well...better be off now. Got to study and do the assignment at once. Thanks for taking your time reading this post.

Hari Dunia Tanpa Tembakau

Image
Kumpulan penyelidikan berkenaan menjelas...

Sociolinguistics at VUW

Sociolinguistics I'm just soo busy and stressed out lately. I have no idea that being a student is so frustrating. I just completed my Socioinguistics assignment and handed it in yesterday. It was a relief after a hard work that I put on it. Not sure what I'll get though, hopefully colourful result. Ah well, let's not talk about sociolinguistics. It's boring as hell. I have no idea why it is a compulsory subject for me. It has nothing to do with teaching English. I just have to bear with it until then end of this semester and done. No more sociolinguistics. Do not get me wrong. I love linguistics, just that this sociolinguistics is too narrow in contexts. Not really what I was expected from it before I enrolled. However, I love other linguistics courses that I took last trimester (Early Words and Interpersonal Communication). The end of it Till I write again (hard for me to write something) ps: I'm also frustrated cause I don't get to go out often now. Well, it...

Experience as a checkout operator

Working as a checkout operator is always overrated by most people. I have no idea why but at first as a customer before I work as a checkout operator I thought that the work is easy, just scan the items and chuck them into bags. Oh well, it was before. After I started working as a cashier about a month ago i started to realise that the work is actually harder than I thought. Why is it difficult? At first you have to be fast, this is boring because you're not going to get better payment even if you're so fast like a superman or the flash anyway. If you work too slow you'll most probably be fired. Oh well, I'm not slow just moderate cause I want to be moderate. Second, you need to be really patient because there are many type of people do their shopping at that place where I a working right now. There was one time, I was working at night and there was a guy who was wanted to buy his groceries and placed it on my counter. After I scanned the items and put them in the bags...

South Island New Zealand

Image
I had a road trip to cover my tour in New Zealand. I travelled in the North Island last year and this year, I thought why not I travel in the South. Oh well I did cover the South Island, from Picton to Picton. I travelled to all the cities in the East Coast and All the Cities in the West Coast. Here is the stories and what I did. Actually before you read, I was in a budget so I didn't do many expensive activities that could kill you (lit erally kill you) like bungy, sky diving or rafting. lol. I didn't feel like doing all the things because I prefer to see the sceneries and enjoy the ambiance. The Starting Point Everything started at Wellington when I took the ferr y to Picton. The ferry fee was NZD52 from Wellington to Picton. It was an awesome journey because the weather was fine. I was lucky about it or else I would easily get sick in a voyage. In the ferry,I went to the top deck to see the view from it. There are many islands because the ferry went through a sound to ...

Bitter Experience in NZ

Image
I have something to say about a car rental company that really bad in handling customers and racist as I called it.  It happened on my trip in New Zealand South Island at Picton . As I disembarked from Interislander ferry I head out to the place where I had made a booking through the internet. The place is called Ace Rental Cars . I went to the place and I was the only customer at that time. I went to the very senior lady who happened to be a clerk there. Oh, don't ask me about the lady. She doesn't even have a computer skill I can say cause she can't even use a mouse. She just type in and asked me why that doesn't come out? "Oh well, of course it didn't come out, You didn't click on the BOX" I don't want to talk about her but I want to talk about her service there. When she was serving me, she asked me to pay the rest of the balance when I booked online. I tried to pay using my credit card but it was declined. I didn't know what had happened a...
